Meandering the Chehalis River
This former timber railroad has been converted into a multi-use pathway. On any given day people can be enjoying biking, walking, roller blading or horseback riding (or any other non-motorized mode of transportation). The trail begins near I-5 in Chehalis and extends for 56 miles to the coast. However, always check the trail conditions before heading out as frequently there are closures along this trail, especially as it moves closer to Raymond.
Leaving from the Chehalis trailhead, the path is paved for a little over 5 miles and the scenery consists of marshy farmlands and prairie. Throughout the ride catch glimpses of the Chehalis River where at times you’ll be crossing the river on one of the numerous bridges.

After the pavement ends it converts to a compacted gravel which is still really good for biking. A great place to either take a break or use as a turnaround is Rainbow Falls State Park.
There are multiple trailheads along the trail for parking (bring your Discover Pass). Great stops along the way include exploring Rainbow Falls State Park. The falls are essentially viewable right off the main road into the park.

About a mile east of PeEl is the Jones Creek Brewery. This is a great place to enjoy a variety of brews made on site in an idyllic farm setting.
