Chambers Creek Regional Park

One of the most spectacular views you can get of the Puget Sound is at Chambers Creek Regional Park. A very popular place for walking, the Chambers Bay Loop combines the Grandview Trail and Soundview Trail to create a roughly 3.3 mile circuit. As an added bonus, it’s recommended to take a quick offshoot on the Pedestrian Overpass bridge and directly onto the beach. The path is fully paved but be prepared for some significant elevation gains. This loop takes you around the famous Chambers Bay Golf Course—host of the 2015 U.S. Open—and treats you to sweeping views over the golf course, Puget Sound, and nearby islands like Fox, Anderson, and McNeil. The path is paved and mostly accessible, though there are some hills and steeper grades that add a bit of challenge and reward for your effort.

This loop is a great way to get your daily steps and provides sweeping views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and the rolling landscape of the reclaimed parklands. Many of these routes are built on the former industrial and gravel-mining lands, now transformed into public recreational spaces that feel both open and scenic.

If you choose to walk with your four legged friend, there is a dog park along the route so he can get some extra exercise. Be aware that part of this loop includes walking through an active golf course so errant flying balls are a possibility.
